About Our Event

Fitness. Health. Fun.

Welcome to the Warrnambool Running Festival, an annual event that celebrates running and community spirit in South West Victoria. The festival has a rich history that dates back to the 1980s when it was known as the Koroit to Warrnambool half marathon. Since then, it has undergone many changes, including a rebranding in 2019, which saw it become the Warrnambool Running Festival.

The festival continues to evolve, adding new events and experiences for participants each year. In 2022, the festival introduced the Saturday Kids and All Abilities events, further cementing its commitment to being a truly inclusive and accessible community event.

The Warrnambool Athletics Club took control of the event in 1990 and has since continued to grow the festival into one of the most eagerly anticipated events on the South West Victoria sporting calendar. The purpose of the festival is to build the running community and raise funds to allow the Warrnambool Athletics Club to continue to offer events for its members and runners in the district.

This year, we are excited to partner with We've Got You, a charity that supports families in South West Victoria who have experienced the loss of a child from conception through to sixteen years of age. We believe that this partnership reflects our commitment to supporting our community and making a positive impact in the lives of those around us.

We are also thrilled to announce that this year's event hub will be moved to the carnival space in the Warrnambool foreshore next to the main beach kiosk. This will provide a beautiful backdrop for the festival and help create an even more vibrant and exciting atmosphere.

Whether you're an experienced runner or just starting out, the Warrnambool Running Festival has something for everyone. Join us for a day of fun, fitness, and community spirit. We can't wait to see you there!
